'Lula' came into existence after some thought about a name that reflected my views on world travel. My name is Yvette, and my first attempts at a website name included all the versions of "Y-Not-Travel" or other "Y" names. But, the ones I liked were already long taken. On to plan B..
You may notice I chose the dragonfly to represent me and this blog. I believe the dragonfly represents change and freedom...as a good thing. Travel sometimes involves venturing into the unknown, new places or experiences, that are a bit outside our comfort zone. I love learning and exploring, and getting to know new places tends to be more exciting than scary for me. And since the Spanish word for dragonfly is libelula (and I plan on traveling/spending a lot of time in Spanish speaking regions), LULA was born.

Right, another travel blog. How many people don't like to travel? Probably not many among those who choose to read travel blogs! However, I want more than a week here and there, and a few pretty pictures from my travels. Luckily, I'm married to someone who feels the same way, and wants to join me as a future vagabond, creating a new 'normal' for us. We've had the fortunate experience of living abroad as expats, and we've spent the last few years missing that experience so much.

This blog is the launch point for more intensive world adventuring. It is putting a thought into action. Soon, we will drop the home base, and travel full time.
